Your numbers are personal. This page explains how the current version of Clearer Money handles them, including how your browser keeps your current calculation.
Who runs Clearer Money

Calculator inputs
Clearer Money calculates results in your browser. You do not need an account, and the calculators do not save a household profile to an application database.
Inputs can include salary, bonus, pension contributions and the number of children. The calculator uses them to produce estimates and comparisons. Do not enter names, National Insurance numbers or other identifying information into calculator fields.
Your browser session
Your inputs are kept in the current page and session storage in your browser tab, so you can refresh without re-entering them. We do not put personal inputs in result URLs or send them to an application database. A copied page link does not contain your calculation.
Use Clear my numbers to remove saved calculator inputs for this site from the tab. Session storage normally ends when you close the tab, although browser session restore or duplicating a tab may preserve it. On a shared device, clear your numbers when you finish. If browser storage is blocked, calculations still work in the current visit but may reset after a refresh.
Old links that already contain financial inputs should not be shared. The site removes recognised input parameters from the address bar and ignores them, but opening an old link may still send its original URL to the host. Previously shared links or browser history are not erased by this change.
Cookies and analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and improve the site. Google processes technical information such as device and browser details and cookie identifiers. Analytics loads only after you accept; rejecting it does not affect the calculators. We do not enable Google advertising signals or advertising personalisation.
We remember your analytics choice in local storage for up to six months. Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) are configured with a six-month expiry, which may refresh on visits. Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice or withdraw consent; rejecting analytics removes these cookies from this site. Calculator inputs are not saved in local storage. Our pageview events omit URL query strings and fragments and use fixed page names, rather than your entered figures.
Google may process analytics data outside the UK. See Google’s privacy policy for information about its processing and safeguards. Our legal basis for optional analytics is your consent. Your browser may separately cache files, save history or offer autofill.
Email forms
Email delivery is not currently enabled. Entering an address into the email-plan form keeps it in the current page state; pressing the button does not send the address to an email service or subscribe you to a mailing list.
If email delivery or saved accounts are introduced, this notice will be updated to explain what is collected and how it is used.
Website requests
Delivering a web page involves technical information such as your IP address, requested URL and browser information. Hosting and security services may process this information to serve pages, diagnose problems and protect the service.
The website is hosted by Vercel, with domain and DNS services provided by Cloudflare. We rely on our legitimate interests in delivering and securing the website for necessary technical request processing. These providers may process technical data internationally under their data protection arrangements. Provider log retention depends on their service settings; we do not maintain a separate database of calculator submissions.
Your privacy rights
Where personal data is held about you, UK data protection law may give you rights to access it, correct it, request deletion, restrict processing, object to processing or receive a portable copy. Which rights apply depends on the processing and its legal basis. Send requests to ryan@clearermoney.com.
